Check-Up Programs

WHY A 'CHECK-UP' SHOULD BE DONE?

Check-up is a health screening that aims to detect possible diseases in the early period and take precautions, taking into account the age, hereditary structure and environmental factors of a person who has no health problems. Having a check-up provides early diagnosis of diseases that are difficult to treat in advanced stages, so that treatment can be started as soon as possible.

Modern preventive medicine aims to ensure that the person stays healthy by taking the necessary precautions before the disease occurs. Therefore, even if there are no complaints, every person should apply to a specialist doctor at certain intervals and undergo a general health check regarding their age, gender, and hereditary characteristics. These time intervals vary according to the person's age, gender and hereditary risk factors.

Early and accurate diagnosis of many diseases such as atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, high blood sugar and cancer, which are the diseases of our age, is extremely important in terms of the life span and quality of the person. In addition, it progresses insidiously for years without giving any symptoms and without causing any complaints in the patient; However, early diagnosis, regular diet and treatment are of great importance in chronic diseases such as hypertension, dyslipidemia and diabetes that damage vital organs such as the brain, heart and kidneys. Even a symptom that is thought to be insignificant can be a sign of a very important disease.

If many diseases are detected in the early period, the success of the treatment will be higher. For this reason, the "check-up" to be done at least once a year is essential in protecting our health.

Maybe the fear of a problem or a simple negligence will pay off very heavily in the future.

Certain risk factors come to the fore in the development of contemporary, chronic diseases. Some of these risk factors are not modifiable, these are gender, age and hereditary factors. On the other hand, modifiable risk factors are the majority. These include high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high blood fats, excessive weight gain, obesity, smoking, alcohol, malnutrition, sedentary lifestyle and lack of physical exercise.
